As one of
the cricket clubs on the Sunshine Coast, we are proud to be given the
opportunity to host 8 matches for this international cricket festival. At YCC,
we are endeavoring to make sure that the visiting players and their partners
get a taste of the beauty and hospitality that the Sunshine Coast is renowned
for. To this end, we are offering a range of activities for the non-playing
participants such as tennis at the adjoining Yandina Tennis Club, sample
platters of local produce including Bananas, Pineapples, Strawberries, Ginger
and Macadamia nuts and promotional material from our co host sponsors
Bartercard, Buderim Ginger, Nutworks Macadamia Processors and Picnics at the
Rocks Restaurant. Please check the links to our sponsor’s web sites for
activities on the rest days or during matches for the partners.
Each day,
we will be taking photos of the matches at Yandina and they will be posted each
evening. This will allow for the unlucky people left at home to view the
action.
Bartercard
signs will be placed around the grounds adjacent to the boundaries. Any player
able to hit them with a six will win a bottle of Yandina’s centenary rose port
along with a Bartercard tee shirt and cap with our golden oldies logo
embroidered on it. This will encourage the big hitting exciting cricket that is
the hallmark of one-day matches.
Buderim
Ginger is sponsoring man of the match packs for each team that plays at Yandina
during the festival. The captains will pick the man of the match from the
opposing team after each match and a representative of Buderim Ginger will
present them with a Buderim Ginger Gift pack.
